The Australian Yowie
March 19, 2006
In the Blue Mountains of Australia (west of Sydney) lies an area known to local as "The Blue Labyrinth". It is rightfully named due to its size (1 million hectares). Most of this area has not bee explored. Roughly ten years ago, the Labyrinth yielded a rare find, the Wollemi Pine. It was discovered in a gorge in Wollemi State Park. The Blue Mountains are also known to be home of the "Yowie". The Yowie is said to be a colorful part of Aboriginal Legend with a fearsome reputation. Similiar to the Sasquatch, the Yowie is said to have a nortorious smell, stand seven to eight feet tall, as well as being covered with long hair.
With the recent findings of rare animals in the mountains of New Guinea as well as the finding of the Wollemi Pine, who says that the Yowie or Sasquatch are only a myth?
