The Media, Friend or Foe?

When you are involved with a Paranormal Investigation, their are a lot of steps that are taken before
you arrive on the scene. You have the initial contact, the preliminary investigation, and a lot of researching. As the PR
representative for a group, sometimes you are fortunate enough to gain exposure via the local newspaper or a radio station. In
most cases, the exposure can gain you more investigations. That is if you are interviewed and quoted correctly. Sometimes, for
better ratings, your quotes can be more of a "rubix cube" of what you had actually said.
Sometimes, writers will change your actual quote to better suit their needs. For example, if you had
actually said, " Once you debunk something, it is easier to find the actual activity". They may write something like this,
"I'd rather find nothing than anything at all". Do you see the difference? The reasons that writers do this varies. It could
be for better reading or because the actual answer to his/her question isn't exactly what they wanted to hear. So, how do you
react to this type of misrepresentation? The answer is simple, maintain the professional appearance and services that the
public and private sectors have become use to from your respective group.
